King/Queen of the Court
Here ye, here ye, if you wish to put your skills to the test in the very first FCIF Pickleball tournament, the initial 24 heroes to sign up will go down in infamy throughout the land.
This year, FCIF is expanding its offerings with not only our legendary golfing experience but also a Pickleball tournament.
Questions that might arise within the kingdom:
1. Can someone play both golf and pickleball?
This opportunity is only available if you choose not to play golf.
2. Is this tournament at Barnsley Gardens?
Barnsley Gardens now offers six brand-new outdoor Pickleball courts
3. What is the structure of the pickleball tournament?
- We will be playing a version of “King of the Court”.
- You will be assigned a partner and will play with them for the duration of the tournament. If you have a partner you are signing up with, please be sure to note that at registration.
- We will have a “Kings/Queens” court that only the best of the best will claim as their own.
- First match, everyone is on equal footing and the winners of the match will move “up” in court and the those that didn’t win, will move “down” in court.
- This ensures rather quickly that skill level will be playing against skill level for a majority of this fantastic event.
- We will have a Kings (Expert), Queens (Skilled), Rooks (Advanced), Knights (Intermediate), Bishops (Beginner), and Pawns (Novice) Court.
4. How long should I expect to play?
- This will be an all-day tournament with a few breaks thrown in.
- We will break for lunch and another break for Beat The Pro.
5. Will there be prizes that can be won or tickets that can be purchased for a chance drawing, like there is in golf?
Absolutely, there will be a pro or two that you might want to try your hand at defeating, and there will be raffle prizes.
6. Will lunch, snacks, and beverages be provided?
You bet!
7. This sounds too good to be true, does this cost more than the golfing experience?
The cost of the Pickleball tournament will be $550 for one person or $1,000 for two.
8. Will paddles and balls be provided?
Yes, but feel free to bring your own paddle if you have one. If not, we provide a decent substitute.
9. How does this work for the differing donation tiers?
If your sponsorship includes player spots, you have the flexibility to allocate them between golf and pickleball based on your preference. Whether your guests all choose to play golf or some opt for pickleball, the choice is entirely yours.
10. Where should I register and at what time should I register on the day of the tournament?
Be at the Pickleball courts at 10am for registration and to find out your team and the you are court playing on, plus any announcements.
